“I entered college thinking that I would leave with a pre-med concentration and head into graduate school for psychology. Now going into my last year of college and after three years of Breakthrough. I want to become an educator without a doubt in my mind. Breakthrough has been a large part of how I've changed as a person and what I changes I want to see happen in the world.”

-- Philip Cheng, Breakthrough New York Teacher 2006

Phase 3: Application
Now that you have completed the feasibility analysis and concluded that a Breakthrough site will benefit students in your community, you are ready to embark on the formal process of submitting an application for affiliation.

Applications are approved at the national Breakthrough Collaborative Board of Trustees meetings three times per year (November, March, & June). The national office will help to ensure your application is ready for review by the Program Growth Committee of the board one month prior to the board meeting.

Below are links to application materials and sample documents that will assist you in the planning of a Breakthrough site in your community:

During the application process, Breakthrough's national office can provide a variety of support in helping you to plan and peruse all phases of launching of a Breakthrough site, including: Participating in meetings by conference call, reviewing grant proposals, reviewing application materials, and presenting at board of directors or community meetings
